Six cars jumped the tracks in the mishap, which occurred about 12:18 p.m. in a section of track near W 12th Ave. between S 12th St. and S 14th St. near the Oil City Iron Works.

The derailment was in a part of town that is not easily accessible by highway traffic. A large section of track was damaged in the incident and several rail cars tipped over onto their sides.<\/p>\n
The Corsicana Daily Sun website<\/a> posted an article on the derailment:<\/p>\n At the derailment site, several of the derailed cars were turned on their sides along the track. Sections of track were mangled and bent, and some of the freight cars had lost trucks that were left scattered over the length of the derailment.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n According to a railroad company spokesman, the 75-car freight train with 3 locomotives was on its way with a load of new vehicles heading to Spring, Texas.<\/p>\n Fortunately, there were no reports of injuries to any railroad workers.<\/p>\n The cause of the derailment is not known at this time, but the incident is currently under investigation.<\/p>\n Houston lawyer searches:<\/p>\n Houston FELA lawyer<\/a><\/p>\n
