<\/a><\/p>\nTroop I of the Missouri Highway Patrol reported that 15 cars were off the tracks and that 8 of those were on their sides. <\/p>\n
Some of the tipped-over cars were tankers. Two were empty but were carrying liquid petroleum. The patrol reported there could possibly be minor leaking of the residual petro. One tanker was leaking corn meal.<\/p>\n
As a precaution residents were evacuated who were 1,000 feet down wind including the Swedeborg Elementary School.<\/p>\n
The patrol said it wasn’t sure how long it would take to clear the train.<\/p>\n
BNSF said no one was hurt and sent teams to the site of the derailment to figure out what caused the accident.<\/p>\n
