The truck was fitted with an attachment for running on rail tracks.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><!--more-->According to Coconino County Sheriff&#8217;s officials, the accident occurred about 6:30 a.m. on Friday, July 27, about 14 miles north of Ash Fork. The city of Ash Fork is located about 53 miles west of Flagstaff.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_4698\" style=\"width: 490px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4698\" class=\"size-full wp-image-4698\" title=\"ash-fork-az-bnsf-railroad-worker-killed-map\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gordon-elias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/ash-fork-az-bnsf-railroad-worker-killed-map.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.gordon-elias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/ash-fork-az-bnsf-railroad-worker-killed-map.jpg 480w, https:\/\/www.gordon-elias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/ash-fork-az-bnsf-railroad-worker-killed-map-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-4698\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Map showing location of a fatal accident about 14 miles north of Ash Fork, AZ where a BNSF railroad worker was killed on July 27, 2012.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>According to the Arizona Daily Sun, the victim was identified as 41-year-old Jason Lacy of Williams, Arizona.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities told the media that the truck Lacy was driving was equipped with a special attachment that allows it to be operated on the rails and that Lacy was responsible for monitoring and maintaining the tracks.<\/p>\n<p>Officials said that the evidence at the scene indicated that the truck ran directly into the rear of the train&#8217;s last freight car.
