NORTH PLATTE, NE.\u00a0 — Three Union Pacific railroad workers were injured, two seriously burned while working on a rail car at Union Pacific’s Bailey Yard in North Platte.<\/p>\n

The accident occurred on Saturday, Dec 29, at Union Pacific’s Bailey Yard in North Platte, Nebraska when the two workers and another worker were using a blowtorch on the coupler end of a car and a hot oil, likely hydraulic fluid, spilled onto the workers, burning their hands and faces.<\/p>\n

According to Union Pacific spokesman, Mark Davis, all three workers were taken to Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte. One was treated and released. Two of the employees were taken to a burn unit for treatment.<\/p>\n

The incident remains under investigation at this time.<\/p>\n
