It’s been more than 100 days since the Nov. 15 Show of Support parade float and train crash that caused the death of four military veterans and injured 14 people, and still the Midland Police Department has not publicly stated the official primary cause of the crash.<\/p>\n

Union Pacific, however, has filed motions in civil court contending that three other entities are responsible for the collision that killed the four U.S. military veterans on the parade float last year.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs of this time, we do not plan on filing a lawsuit against the city, county of Midland or Show of Support, which together were primarily responsible for planning and carrying out the veterans’ parade. However, since those three entities were involved in the events that led up to the collision,\u201d they are named as responsible third parties, Union Pacific said in a statement.<\/p>\n

A spokesman for the city declined comment on the railroad\u2019s motions.<\/p>\n

No official cause of the incident has been released.<\/p>\n
