CANTON, OH — A train derailment on Thursday, April 25, caused three rail cars to spill a load of plastic pellets at the Wheeling & Lake Erie Railroad Gambrinus Yard in canton, Ohio.<\/p>\n

According to Noel Rush, spokesman for the first-responder R.J. Corman Railroad Group, three \u201choppers\u201d loaded with plastic pellets spilled at the site.<\/p>\n

The Wheeling & Lake Erie Railway Co., which is based in Brewster, sent clean-up crews from their Toledo and Pittsburgh divisions that arrived at 6 a.m. Friday after the company was notified Thursday evening.<\/p>\n

Alec Jarvis, vice president of law and government relations for the company, said that no one was injured in the incident and that the spilled material was not hazardous.<\/p>\n

The incident remains under investigation at this time.<\/p>\n
