WEST HAVEN, CT — A railroad worker was killed on May 28, 2013 by a southbound commuter train while working on the tracks near the Metro-North station in West Haven.<\/p>\n

The railroad worker was identified as 52 year-old Robert Luden, from East Haven, CT, who had been employed by Metro-North for 27 years.<\/p>\n

The accident happened around 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 only a few miles out from the station in New Haven. The train had left the station in New Haven at 11:53 a.m. and was heading towards Grand Central station in New York when the accident occurred.<\/p>\n

The West Haven station was under construction at the time and was nearly finished.<\/p>\n

The incident remains under investigation at this time.<\/p>\n
