MADISON, TN – A man was walking in the middle of the tracks and was struck and killed by a CSX train in Madison, TN on September 26, 2011.

Police in Madison, TN investigate the death of 18 year-old James Grogan, who was struck from behind by an oncoming CSX train on September 26, 2011 while walking in the middle of the tracks. Officials believe he was listening to earphones at the time.

CLAIBORNE COUNTY, TN -  A man from the Tiprell community of Claiborne County who was distraught over the loss of his friend, opened fire on two employees of Norfolk Southern Railroad when their train was stopped on the tracks.

Mark Anthony Bruce charged with aggravated assault for shooting at two NS railroad workers.

The incident occurred on Thursday, June 2, when Claiborne 911 received reports of a shooting in the Tiprell community, according to Sheriff David Ray. COOKEVILLE, TN – On Wednesday, August 18, 2010 just before 9 a.m. a train derailed in Cookeville, TN due to flash flooding in the area. Four rail cars derailed in the incident. The train was operated by the Nashville and Eastern Railroad Corporation.

CHATTANOOGA, TN – The Federal Railroad Administration is investigating the May 23 CSX train derailment in Chattanooga, Tennessee, which happened at about 4:30 p.m. near the 3200 block of Broad Street. Officials may also be looking at the steadily rising number of accidents in the area.
